RALEIGH - Realignment in 2009 will really shake things up in Western North Carolina if everything stays the same as the NCHSAA has proposed.  A lot of mountain teams will be moving to split conferences, five teams will be changing classifications
The biggest change in Buncombe County will be at Reynolds and Roberson.

ASHEVILLE - November 9, 2007 - Two volleyball teams, one made up of players from the Mountain Athletic Conference and the other one made up of players from the Western Highlands Conference, will participate in the Red-Blue All-Star Tournament in Greensboro at Greensboro Sports Plex.  The tournament includes 24 All-Star teams from conferences all over the state.

BLACK MOUNTAIN - October 27, 2007 - Not since 2004 have the Owen Warhorses had an outright conference championship, and a win over Polk County Friday night would give them just that.  However, a win against Polk County is not particularly easy to come by.
