–Christ School pins Brevard to the mat

FLAT ROCK - November 13, 2007 - Christ School and Brevard wrestled at East Henderson High School on Tuesday night and the Greenies came away the victor, winning 42-28.  Christ School used five pins and two forfeits to gain the win.  Brevard had two pins, two forfeits and one major decision in the loss.

SWANNANOA - November 13, 2007 - Former WCU Associate Head Baseball coach, Eric Filipek, has been hired as Head Baseball Coach for Asheville Christian Academy. Coach Filipek, a UNCA graduate, takes the helm of the ACA baseball program immediately.

CHARLOTTE - October 30, 2007 - The Owen Warhorses are the top 2-A team in the North Carolina as well as the Roberson "Runnin’ Rams" girls in 3-A.  The West Henderson boys (2-A) and both the Asheville (3-A) boys and girls are ranked #2.

CHARLOTTE - October 26, 2007 - Davis Graham finished his high school career in the best place you can be and that place is being the best runner in the 2007 NCISAA 1A/2A X-Country State Championship.  He finished with a time of 16:35, beating second place, Jackson Ferrell of Fayetteville Academy, by 11 seconds.

Lots of oomph in mountain offenses

The results are in. The Spread offenses that are widespread throughout western North Carolina are putting up bigger numbers across the region, with recent games resembling defensive-minded basketball scores and less like defensive struggles on the gridiron.
