–Softball playoffs - 2nd round results - only 9 teams remain

Eight of the 14 softball games played yesterday ended in one of the teams getting blanked. 
In the 2-A, Pisgah defeated Chase and East Rutherford beat Smoky Mt, both by a 2-0 margin and Hibriten beat Owen 1-0.

HARRIS - Tuesday, February 26 - In the playoffs, teams just have to survive to play another day and the Chase Trojans used that concept in a tough 71-70 win over the Madison Patriots on Tuesday night in the first round of the 2A NCHSAA basketball playoffs, Tuesday.

February 18, 2008 - The only tournament that has the boys playing on Monday is the Western Highlands 1-A/2-A.  The WAC, MAC and NWC are starting with the girls on Monday and the WHC girls will start on Tuesday night.

–2009 conference realignments shake things up WNC

RALEIGH - Realignment in 2009 will really shake things up in Western North Carolina if everything stays the same as the NCHSAA has proposed.  A lot of mountain teams will be moving to split conferences, five teams will be changing classifications
The biggest change in Buncombe County will be at Reynolds and Roberson.
