–2009 conference realignments shake things up WNC

RALEIGH - Realignment in 2009 will really shake things up in Western North Carolina if everything stays the same as the NCHSAA has proposed.  A lot of mountain teams will be moving to split conferences, five teams will be changing classifications
The biggest change in Buncombe County will be at Reynolds and Roberson.

ASHEVILLE - November 16, 2007 - The second round of the NCHSAA playoffs were not kind to teams in Western North Carolina and other mountain areas on Friday night.  Eight of the 13 regional teams went down to defeat.  The winners were East Burke (4-AA), Watauga (4-A), Roberson (3-AA), Asheville (3-A) and Pisgah (2-AA).

MOUNT GILEAD - November 16, 2007 - West Montgomery, seeded #6, ran all over #14 seed, Hendersonville, on Friday night, winning 41-7.  The Bearcats never got on track as West took a 21-0 lead into the locker room.  The Warriors whipped the Bearcats up front, gaining 304 yards on the ground.
