–2009 conference realignments shake things up WNC

RALEIGH - Realignment in 2009 will really shake things up in Western North Carolina if everything stays the same as the NCHSAA has proposed.  A lot of mountain teams will be moving to split conferences, five teams will be changing classifications
The biggest change in Buncombe County will be at Reynolds and Roberson.

LEICESTER - November 14, 2007 - On the first day that high school athletes can sign their letter of intent, Erwin’s Brooke Robinson exchanged her red uniform for an orange one.  With family and teammates around her, she signed to play for the Tusculum College Pioneers, a Division II school, located just outside of Greenville, TN.

LEICESTER - November 14, 2007 - Mike Sexton, who was let go by Tuscola after last years 2-9 season, spent this year as an assistant at Erwin and now has been named to replace Chris Brookshire as the Warriors head football coach.

–Erwin’s Brooke Robinson to sign ‘Letter of Intent’ on Wednesday

LEICESTER - November 13, 2007 - Last year as a junior, Brooke Robinson made the 2007 Mountain Athletic All Conference Team.  She had a 2.38 earned run average with 124 strikeouts in 105 2/3 innings pitched.  She also had nine complete games with four saves while hitting for a .310 batting average during her junior year.

–MAC & WHC sends all-star volleyball teams to Greensboro

ASHEVILLE - November 9, 2007 - Two volleyball teams, one made up of players from the Mountain Athletic Conference and the other one made up of players from the Western Highlands Conference, will participate in the Red-Blue All-Star Tournament in Greensboro at Greensboro Sports Plex.  The tournament includes 24 All-Star teams from conferences all over the state.
