–Last year’s single’s champ Grove pairs with Beal to take 1-A doubles crown

CARY - Saturday, May 17 - 2007 defending singles champ Tyler Grove of Hendersonville elected to play doubles this time around and earned another state title.

Grove and Robert Beal defeated Nickolus John and Dusty Roberson of Mount Airy 6-2, 6-3, on Saturday morning for the doubles crown.

John teamed with Matt Johnson last year and won the 2007 state 1-A doubles championship, beating another Mount Airy team that included his current teammate Roberson, who paired with Chase Pumerantz in the final.
