–Pisgah’s Tommy Johnson leaves after two years at helm

2 May 2008

CANTON - Citing family health issues and needing to be closer to home, Pisgah boys basketball coach Tommy Johnson has resigned and taken the head coaching at North Wilkes.

Johnson, who has 22 years of coaching experience in high school, had a 37-16 record in his two years at Pisgah, including a 25-5 record this past year, taking the Black Bears to the 2-A NCHSAA championship game where they lost to West Bladen.

Johnson, who compiled a 37-16 record in two seasons and took the Black Bears to the NCHSAA 2-A championship game in March, is leaving Canton to take over the program at North Wilkes.

Pisgah is accepting applications until May 23.
