–Greenies dispatch of Forsyth Country Day & Hickory in lacrosse, win streak is at five
2 May 2008WINSTON-SALEM - On Friday night, April 25, the Greenies won their fourth game in a row defeating state rival Forsyth Country Day 9-8.
Christ School took a 6-4 lead to half time before making a 3-0 run in the third quarter to pull the lead to 9-5.
Hal Swanson and Taylor Bethea led the team in goals with two a piece while Max Snider, Ty Baugh, Chris Thompson, Charlie Jackson, and Billy Newton and all contributed a goal each.
Bethea also contributed four assists and Clay Maxwell also made an assist.
Jarred Lehr once again led the team in groundballs with nine and Brad Dunn made 15 saves.
ARDEN - The Greenies cruised to a 13-2 on Tuesday with a win over Hickory High School on Tuesday, April 29.
Offensively, Taylor Bethea led the team in goals with five while Chris Thompson contributed three goals and two assists and Hal Swanson had two goals and two assists.
Ty Baugh played an exceptional game scoring a goal, an assist, 13 groundballs, and was 5/7 on face-offs.
Simms Davenport and Skeet Ponder also recorded goals.
Defensively the team played outstanding holding Hickory to 14 shots. The effort was led by Billy Newton, Cole Jones, Stokes Volatile, Brien Peterkin, Edbo Genet, Michael Williamson, Jim Nardi, and Whit Whitmire. Brad Dunn also recorded five saves.
This weekend is alumni weekend and the Greenies host two lacrosse games. On Friday they play Cannon School and Saturday is "Senior Day" against Asheville High.
