–Christ School beats Charlotte Country Day and wallops Patton in lacrosse

ARDEN - April 4, 2007 - For the first time in school history, Christ School defeated perennial powerhouse Charlotte Country Day School 9-8. 

The Greenies got off to a good start and maintained a 4-3 lead at half time.  Country Day battled back in the third quarter and took a one goal lead. 

Taylor Bethea scored with just over four minutes left to tie the score at eight a piece.  Then, senior midfielder Max Snider scored the game winning goal with over two minutes to go to take a 9-8 lead. 

Brad Dunn made two of his fifteen saves (career high) in the final two minutes to seal the victory. 

Defensively, Billy Newton, Stokes Volatile, Sam Redmond, and Skeet Ponder all played outstanding games. 

Bethea led the way offensively with four goals and two assists while Clay Maxwell had two goals and Jarred Lehr, Max Snider, and Simms Davenport all scored a goal a piece.

ARDEN - April 8, 2008 - Christ School scored five straight goals in the first four minutes of the game and maintained an 8-0 lead at the end of the first quarter over Patton High School in route to a 15-1 victory. 

Taylor Bethea lead the way with five goal and two assists while Clay Maxwell had four goals and an assist and Hal Swanson had two goals and two assists. 

Chris Thompson played well contributing two goals while Charlie Jackson and Ryan Volatile each scored a goal a piece. 

Edbo Genet, Michael Williamson, Jim Nardi and Brien Peterkin all played outstanding games defensively holding Patton to just 10 total shots. 

Skeet Ponder and Ty Baugh both had nine groundballs and Brad Dunn made four saves.
 
Their next game is this Friday at home against Caldwell Academy at 5:00 pm.
 
Saturday’s game against Southeast Guilford has been cancelled.
