February 18, 2008 - Three girls’ tournaments get underway today with the WAC, MAC and NWC in the spotlight. 

Getting first round byes are #1 Smoky Mt and #2 Pisgah in the WAC 2-A, #1 Roberson in the MAC 3-A and #1 McDowell in the NWC 4-A.

The WAC tournament is being played at East Henderson, the MAC is at Erwin and in the NWC, the higher seed is the home team in the first round and the second round through the championship game will be played at Freedom High School in Morganton.

Western Athletic Conference 2-A - @ East Henderson

#4 West Henderson vs. #5 Brevard - 4 p.m.
#3 North Henderson vs. #6 East Henderson - 7 p.m.

Mountain Athletic Conference 3-A - @ Erwin

#2 Franklin vs. #7 Tuscola - 5 p.m.
#3 North Buncombe vs. #6 Erwin - 6:30 p.m.
#4 Asheville vs. #5 Enka - 8 p.m.

Northwestern Conference 4-A

#5 East Burke at #4 Reynolds - 7 p.m.
#7 Alexander Central at #2 Freedom - 7 p.m.
#6 Watauga at #3 South Caldwell - 7 p.m.
