–North Henderson’s McMinn reaches 2000 points
31 January 2008BREVARD - January 30, 2008 - It was obvious that Wednesday night was going to be the night that Morgan McMinn hit the 2,000 point plateau. She was only four points away at the start of the game. It was a three-pointer with 3:35 left in the first quarter that gave Clemson bound, McMinn from North Henderson, five points.
The game was stopped and the game ball was given to McMinn, who finished with 28 points.
McMinn holds three school records at North Henderson. She has scored the most points, is the shot block leader and the rebounding leader.
McMinn is the sixth Western North Carolina girl who has gone over the 2,000 point plateau. Cetera DeGraffenreid (3,081) of Smoky Mountain leads the pack, Ashton Barton (2,581) of Rosman is second, Janice Connor (2,346) of Edneyville is third, Rashanda McCants (2,285) of Asheville is fourth and Laura Cottrell (2,088) of Hayesville is fifth on the list.
