–Roberson’s Josh Gossett ranked 16th top wrestling prospect in NC

January 23, 2008 - According to North Carolina Scout Report, senior defending 189# state wrestling champion, Josh Gossett from Roberson, and is rated the 16th best wrestling prospect in North Carolina.  Last year Gossett had a record of 53-3 and is wrestling this year at 189 and 215 this year.

Gossett is a multi-sport athlete.  He excels in both wrestling and football.  He missed his sophomore season due to a ACL injury in football that year.  Gossett was a state qualifier as a freshman, and as a junior he won his first state championship at 189lbs compiling a (53-3) record for the season. 

He has great strength, quickness and a knowledge of wrestling.  Gossett has not compted in the spring, summer or fall.  He has also not competeted in any tough tournaments so far this season, thus the slide in his ranking.  Gossett is projected as a 197lb prospect for wrestling.
