–3rd Annual Martin Luther King Classic to be held on Saturday, January 19
15 January 2008SPINDALE - Timeout Management presents the 3rd annual Martin Luther King Classic on Saturday Jan. 19, 2008. The tourney takes place at East Rutherford High School in Forest City, NC this year.
There will be eight games that day, but things start off at breakfast with N.C. State great David Thompson at Rollins Cafeteria. Tickets are still available for that part of the event and you can call 828-245-9999 for ticket info.
During the event, the 50 greatest girls basketball players of all-time in Rutherford County will be honored on the day (boys were announced at last years tourney) and The Bouncing Bulldogs, a championship jump rope team from Chapel Hill,NC will be perform as well.

8:30 am: MLK Tip-Off Breakfast for the Classic at Rollins Cafeteria
12:00 noon: Game 1. Spartanburg Christian vs. Thomas Jefferson (girls) in Aux. gym
12:00 noon: Game 2. Polk County vs. Chase (girls)
1:30pm: Game 3. Spartanburg Christian vs. Thomas Jefferson (boys) in Aux. gym
1:30pm: Game 4. Polk County vs. Chase (boys)
3:00pm: Game 5. Greenville Tech Charter vs. R-S Central (girls)
4:30pm: Game 6. Greenville Tech Charter vs. R-S Central (boys)
6:00pm: Game 7. Bessemer City vs. East Rutherford (girls)
7:30pm: Game 8. Bessemer City vs. East Rutherford (boys)
