–Bearcats lose as West Montgomery gets 304 on ground and intercepts 5 passes
17 November 2007MOUNT GILEAD - November 16, 2007 - West Montgomery, seeded #6, ran all over #14 seed, Hendersonville, on Friday night, winning 41-7. The Bearcats never got on track as West took a 21-0 lead into the locker room. The Warriors whipped the Bearcats up front, gaining 304 yards on the ground.
Hendersonville’s avoided a shutout when Cedrick Allen scored with 8:24 left in the game.
Allen finished with 19 carries for 86 yards and teammate, Darren Perry, ran seven times for 47 yards for Hendersonville, contributing 88% of the team’s offense on the ground. The Warriors defense held Hendersonville to only had 151 yards on the ground on 35 carries.
Dominique Drake (11-2) led the way for West Montgomery with 149 yards on 7 carries and two touchdowns.
The Bearcats didn’t fare well in the passing game as Ben Walgenbach was picked off five times by West Montgomery’s defense.
West Montgomery hosts next week’s opponent, Jordan Matthew, a surprise winner over #2 seeded, Thomasville, 33-21.
