–Three sign ‘Letters of Intent’ from West Henderson
14 November 2007MILLS RIVER - November 14, 2007 - Three senior athletes from West Henderson signed their ‘National Letter of Intent’ to further their craft at college. They include Brittany Fennell in volleyball and both Casey Allison and Josh Moore in baseball.
Fennell signed with Clemson and will play for Jolene Jordan Hoover, who is in her 15th year and has a 285-171 career record. Fennell was one of the stalwarts on the front line as she helped the Lady Falcons to a 16-0 Western Athletic Conference and 24-2 overall record this past year. She had 316 blocks (12.15/match) and 167 kills (6.42/match) her senior year.

Allison plays center field and batted .506 with 15 home runs, a school record, along with 46 RBI’s including 11 doubles for the Falcons and signed a letter of intent to play for the Wingate University Bulldogs starting in 2008. Their campus is located about 20 miles east of Charlotte on Hwy 74. He will be playing for first year coach Allen Osborne, who was hired in this past July. The new Bulldog mentor has spent time at Memphis, East Carolina and Georgia.
Moore has signed to play for the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. He plays second, short and also pitches for the Falcons. Last year he batted .398 as a leadoff hiiter, with 24 RBI’s and seven doubles. He will join Jonathan Wright, who graduated from Roberson last year, at the Academy as well as the baseball team. He will play for 3rd year coach, Paul Kostacopoulos, who has a lifetime record of 536-353-1 (.603) in 18 seasons as a head coach. In his two seasons at Navy, he has a 67-40-1 record
