–North’s Willingham finishes 2nd, West Henderson is third in girls 2-A X-Country

WINSTON-SALEM - November 3, 2007 - North Henderson’s Sarah Willingham came in second place in the girls 2-A X-Country State Finals with a time of 19:16, 28 seconds behind Heather Beichner of Cardinal Gibbons, who ran a 18:48.  Her team, North Henderson (176), came in 4th, three points behind third place winner, West Henderson (173).  The Durham School of the Arts (83) was third and Orange (182) was 5th.  East Henderson (200) came in 7th as the third member of the WAC to make it into the Top 10.

West Henderson’s five runners that helped them to their 3rd place finish were Danielle Messer (21:24) in 25th, Deanna Belair (21:57) in 38th, Leslie Castillo (22:01) in 39th, Keirsem Ellsworth (22:08) in 42nd and Rebekah Parr (23:13) in 74th.

North’s top five runners included Willingham (2nd) at 19:16, Jessica Stewart (20th) at 21:03, Felicia Carlisle (32nd) at 21:37, Carlie Cruz (67th) at 22:59 and Erica Almanza (102nd) at 24:13.

East Henderson’s runners that gave them their 7th place finish are Devin Gaynor (11th) at 20:30, Heidi Waldbart (32nd) at 21:43, Michela Thiery (64th) at 22:54, Brooke Neelands (66th) at 22:58 and Hayley Anderson (84th) at 23:38.
