–ACA finishes 3rd, Carolina Day is 5th in girls NCISAA 1-A/2-A X-Country Championship

CHARLOTTE - October 27, 2007 - Fayetteville Academy outran the competition with 122 points to win the 1-A/2-A NCISAA X-Country Championship at McAlpine Park in Charlotte on Saturday.  Caldwell Academy came in second with 150 points.  ACA was third with 182, Victory Christian was fourth with 185 points and Carolina Day came in fifth with 97 points.

Led by Whitney Thornburg, who was 8th, ACA came in third in the State Championship.  The other runners who scored points for the Lions were Mandi Struble (19th), Natalie Newberry (49th), Kelly Barnett (50th), and Sarah Baker (56th).  Anna Beth Hagan (83rd) and Bekah Swanson (138th) round out the girls who participated.

Carolina Day was led by Anzhela Bozeman (17th).   Others who ran and finished in the top five were Melissa Garrett (27th), Hannah Goss (33rd), Rachel Newcomb (57th), Hannah Sleight (63rd).  Brennan Harlan (74th) and Lauren Cary (79th) were the other participants in the race for the Wildcats.
