–Murphy takes boys 1-A West Regional X-Country, Hendersonville is 3rd

HENDERSONVILLE - October 27, 2007 -Murphy won the 1-A Boys West Regional X-Country Championship with a score of 46 points, getting by Hayesville, who came in 2nd with 70 points.  Hendersonville had 74 points to take 3rd and Robbinsville took 4th with 78 points.  Polk was 5th with 84 points, Hiwassee Dam was 6th with 163 and Highland Tech was 7th with 186 points.

Cherokee, John Spencer-Wolfe was the first to cross the line with a time of 17:29 for Polk, eleven seconds ahead of Al Gaxiola from Murphy.  Cherokee’s Jake Swimmer, ran a 17:42, which was good for third and Noah Hall, from Polk was fourth with a 17:46.

Hendersonville, who finished in third, top five players were Thomas O’Connell (7th) 17:53, Brian Edwards (10th) with an 18:23, Carlos Unda (13th) with an 18:26, Cooper Shannon 21st at 18:49 and Lucas Onan (28th), with a time of 19:20.
