–Enka beats Franklin, sets up rubber game tomorrow for MAC seeding
16 October 2007FRANKLIN - October 16, 2007 - The Enka Sugar Jets lost to Franklin back in volleyball on September 20 in a classic 5-setter at the Hanger. The Sugar Jets didn’t let it go five this time. They lost the first game then came back to take three straight to set up a third match between the two on Wednesday night, as they only have one loss apiece and are tied for first in the MAC, each one sporting a 11-1 conference record.
It was not easy, as in each game both teams scored 20 points or better. Franklin won the first game 25-23, then Enka won the next three, 25-23, 25-21, and 25-20.
Enka’s setter, Rebecca Smith, had 63 assists and three girls, Rachel Olivo (19), Lauren Hall (14) and Katie Dawson (13) had double figures in kills.
Kirstie Hyatt had 15 digs and Stephanie Norton had 10 digs.
The game will be played on Wednesday at Tuscola with a start time of 6:00.
State playoffs start on Saturday. Seeding is slated to come out on Thursday.
