–Lions bring home a victory against Carolina Day

ASHEVILLE - September 4, 2007 - Stephen Carlson put in two late goals to give ACA a 5-4 win over Carolina Day in soccer action on Tuesday. Carlson also had an assist as ACA ran it’s record to 4-4 overall and 2-1 in the conference.
Two goals were scored just 20 seconds apart with each team benefiting. David Wood put Carolina Day on top with an unassisted goal at 9:20 and then Anthony Pelle banged one in at the 9:40 mark for ACA, on an assist from Carlson.
Wood finished with two goals and two assists. Isaac Jaben also scored two goals for the Wildcats.
Less than five minutes later, Wood knocked another one past the Lions goalkeeper, Adam Johnson, putting the score at 2-1.
ACA’s Thomas George and Blake Wright had a goal apiece within three minutes of each other to climb back on top, 3-2, and it stayed that way until the half.
The Wildcat’s Issac Jaben, with an assist from Wood, scored ten minutes into the second half to tie the match, but two goals by the Carlson put the Lions up 5-3.
A late goal by Jaben, assisted by Wood, was not enough to overtake ACA, bringing the final score to 5-4.
The Lions had 16 shots on goal and Carolina Day had 13. Johnson had 4 saves for ACA and the Wildcats Sam Alexander had three.
Carolina Day is now 1-3 overall and 1-1 in conference. They play at Rabun Gap on Friday at 5:00.
ACA also travels on Friday to Spartanburg Day for a match at 6:00.
